Is there an Umingle app?
Umingle is a web app. Everything the Umingle video app does — random video chat, the online list, messages and calls — runs at umingle.link in the browser you already have. There is nothing to download from an app store and nothing to update: you always get the latest version the moment you open it.
What makes it feel like an app is the home-screen icon. Add Umingle once and it opens full-screen, without the address bar. Your account, coins and messages are the same wherever you open it.
Do you need an Umingle APK?
No. Umingle doesn't come as an APK file, and you don't need one on Android — the home-screen version below does the same job without installing anything from outside the browser.
If a site offers you an "Umingle APK download", skip it. Files installed from outside an app store can ask for permissions a web page never gets, and there is no way to know what is inside. The real thing is always at umingle.link.
How to add Umingle to an iPhone home screen
- Open umingle.link in Safari. On recent versions of iOS, Chrome works too.
- Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up.
- Choose "Add to Home Screen", keep the name Umingle, and tap Add.
- Open it from the new icon. It starts full-screen, like any other app.
How to add Umingle to an Android phone
- Open umingle.link in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top corner.
- Choose "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" — the wording depends on your Chrome version.
- Confirm, and Umingle appears with your other apps.
Camera and microphone on your phone
The first time you start a video match, your phone asks whether Umingle may use the camera and microphone. Allow both — a video chat needs the two together. Messages work without either.
If you tapped "Don't allow" by accident, the other person will see a blank tile. On an iPhone, open Settings, find Safari (under Apps on newer iOS) and set Camera and Microphone to Ask or Allow. On Android, tap the icon just left of the address in Chrome, open Permissions and switch both on. Calls use data, so Wi-Fi gives the smoothest picture when you have it.
Staying signed in on your phone
A guest account lives in the browser it was made in. To keep your coins, follows and messages safe — and to have them on your computer too — sign in with Google or email from the Profile tab. Do it in the browser first, then add Umingle to your home screen, and the home-screen version picks up the same account.
Clearing your browser data signs you out. If you had only ever used Umingle as a guest, that account can't be brought back, so link it before you clear anything.
Umingle video calls on a computer
On a laptop or desktop, open umingle.link in Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox and use your webcam. The layout widens to fit the screen, and the account is the same one you use on your phone — start a chat on one and pick up your messages on the other.
