About Umingle

Umingle links two strangers on camera, one pair at a time. It lives at umingle.link and runs in your browser — on a phone or a computer.

Why Umingle is built call-first

Most ways of meeting someone new online start with a profile and end with a conversation — if you are lucky. You write a bio, pick photos, swipe, wait for a reply, and only much later find out whether the two of you actually get along.

Umingle turns that order around. The conversation comes first: two cameras, linked for as long as both people want to stay. Within a few seconds you know more about someone than a profile would ever tell you — how they laugh, whether they listen, whether there is anything to talk about. If it clicks, you can follow each other afterwards. If it doesn't, Next is one tap away and nobody has lost an evening.

The name says the rest. Umingle — you, mingling — at umingle.link, because every chat is a link between two people, made for a moment and kept only if both want it.

What is on Umingle

Random video chat

Tap start in the Match tab and you are linked one-to-one with someone new, usually in seconds.

Next, whenever

After a short countdown, Next brings in another person. If they leave first, you are matched again on your own.

Choose who to call

The online list shows who is around right now. Open a profile, look through the photos, call directly.

Follow & message

Follow people you got on with, write to them when they are offline, and call again later.

Guest or signed in

Try it as a guest. Sign in with Google or email when you want your account on every device.

On any screen

Runs in the browser on phones and computers. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

How a first chat goes

  1. You open umingle.link and tap start. Your browser asks once for the camera and microphone. Allow both.
  2. Someone new appears. It is just the two of you — no audience, no group room, nobody else listening in.
  3. You talk, or you move on. Say hi, ask where they are, see where it goes. When the countdown ends, Next is there if you want it; ending the call never needs a reason.
  4. You keep the good ones. Follow the people you liked talking to, and pick the conversation up later in messages or with another call.

How Umingle makes money

Plainly: from calls. Opening Umingle and signing up are free, and new accounts usually get some free video matches. After those, video calls are paid with coins bought in advance.

  • Each call has its own price, shown in the app — so two calls of the same length can cost different amounts.
  • A notice appears in the call before billing starts. Nothing is charged without you seeing it first.
  • Umingle VIP is optional. Matching, calling and messaging all work without it.
  • Payments go through a payment provider on its own page. Umingle never sees or stores your card number.

Umingle does not make money by selling personal data, and never will.

What Umingle will not do

  • Sell your personal data, or share it with anyone except the companies that run parts of the service for us and authorities with a valid legal request.
  • Read your chats as a matter of routine — only the reported part of a conversation is looked at, and only to decide what happened.
  • Show your name, number or email to the people you talk to.
  • Start billing a call without telling you in the call first.

Keeping it a place people want to be

A chat with a stranger only works if both of you can relax. So everyone on Umingle must be at least 18 years old, calls stay non-explicit, nobody records anybody, and a no is a no. Every profile has a report option; reports are reviewed by people, and accounts that break the rules can be suspended or, for serious or repeated breaks, removed — and a removed account can't simply sign up again. Blocking someone takes effect at once and lasts until you remove them from your block list.
